What Facilities Will Be Available In Digital Banking Unit And How To Use It? Know Everything

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated 75 digital banking units in 75 districts of the country today. With this, now the distance between banks and customers will be further reduced. Through this service, you will not need to go to the bank to open an account in the bank and from loan application to investing in savings schemes. Because all these facilities will be available on the digital banking unit.

On the occasion of the launch of the Digital Banking Unit, PM Modi said that this service is another step towards modern India. These digital banking services will be easier than ever. This will make everything easier from sending money to taking loans in villages and small towns.

What is Digital Banking Unit?

The Digital Banking Unit is a center where banking products and services will be made available. Here it will be safe and easy for customers to do digital transactions. All banking facilities will be available at these units and you will not always need to go to the bank for them.

How will the Digital Banking Unit work?

According to an ICICI Bank statement, the digital banking unit will have two distinct zones – a self-service area and a digital assistance zone. The Self-Service Zone will have an ATM, cash deposit machine, and a multi-functional kiosk which will provide many services including passbook printing, and internet banking.

ICICI Bank said that there will be a Digi branch kiosk, which will offer all the services available on the mobile banking app. This zone will provide a digital interactive screen where customers can interact through chatbots for product offers and essential services.

At the same time, HDFC Bank’s Digital Banking Unit will be able to use Interactive ATMs, Cash Deposit Machines, Interactive Digital Wall, Net Banking Kiosk / Video Call, and Tab Banking. Most of the services will be in the self-service mode and will be available round the clock. At the same time, there will also be an assistant area in the DBU operated by two bank employees.

Some public and private sector banks set up DBUs

In this initiative of the government, 11 public sector banks of the country, 12 private sector banks, and one small finance bank are joining. In this series, ICICI Bank on Sunday announced the launch of four Digital Banking Units (DBUs) in Dehradun in Uttarakhand, Karur in Tamil Nadu, Kohima in Nagaland, and Puducherry.

Jana Small Finance Bank has launched DBUs in Bihta, Bihar, and Bero, Jharkhand. HDFC Bank has also launched digital banking units in Haridwar, Chandigarh, Faridabad, and South 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
